Todd is a West Point graduate and brings with him vast experience gained during a distinguished military career serving in a broad range of leadership positions in complex domestic and international settings, including five years of diplomatic service. He is an expert at providing consultative assistance to senior leaders; developing and managing relationships with key decision makers; managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and communicating organizational goals and objectives. He has laid the groundwork for high impact in the rapidly emerging European markets.
DAVID SERRANO – CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER
A serial social entrepreneur and industry advocate, David began his passionate journey with cannabis by extracting and infusing cannabis products for his mother. He has since studied and directed in almost every sector of the industry, from energy production, business incubators, cultivations, to sales channel development. David brings a wealth of insights from his nationwide engagements to compartmentalize industry operations and craft a thoughtful, disruptive, and evidence-based comprehensive business plan. He leverages skills in management advisement from his prior military career that earned him multiple commendations and awards for reduction of waste and processing times, to exceptional administrative turnarounds. Through his work, he has built global relationships that range from global leaders, to multi-market distribution channels to help businesses build toward an international impact, specifically in Europe and South America
SEBASTIAN NASSAU – CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
A well-known industry leader and startup addict, Sebastian works with dispensaries, infused product companies, and service-based/value-adding companies that make or have potential to make the most distinct impact in the cannabis marketplace. Since the onset of recreational cannabis, his work has ranged from helping to launch multiple industry success stories to being recognized as a thought-leader in bridging local culture and cannabis. Through coast-to-coast relationships with those at the forefront of the industry, clients are offered access to high-impact networks to propel them in all stages. Sebastians background in Sociology and Intercultural Communication allows him to excel in the development of brand messaging through the study of company culture and how it interacts within an extremely diverse consumer-base. His specialties are new business development, strategic planning, team building, customer acquisition & retention, project management, B2B marketing, community outreach, and innovative and disruptive market solutions. To date, he has helped over 80 different industry-related companies in all stages of development hack their growth.
DAN MARGENAU – CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Dan is an Industrial Engineer and Colorado native with more than 20 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence and Management. He is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified with a passion for problem solving and improving operational efficiencies. Dan focuses on increasing client’s bottom line through significant process improvements and waste elimination, emphasizing sustainability and growth. Dan has expertise in cannabis, medical device, biotech, pharmaceuticals, plastics and distribution / supply chain.. He specializes in: operations, lean manufacturing and team management. He has directed operations for companies like Amazon and O.Pen Vape and is credited for generating millions in savings directly related to operation efficiencies and production increases.
KRISTIN JORDAN - CHIEF ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Comes to the firm with over 20 years of legal experience in real estate, state licensing, and governmental regulatory experience, having successfully represented clients before various state and local agencies.
She has served as counsel to NYC’s hospitality industry, in addition to numerous owners, developers and tenants. Prior to joining the firm, Kristin served as a Real Estate Director for several global corporate and retail real estate departments where she managed portfolios and led sophisticated transactions. Kristin received her undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Albany and her law degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law. She was a Professor Willie L. Moore Summer Fellow during her studies at Cambridge University at Emmanuel College in the UK. She is currently an active member of the New York County Lawyer’s Association (Co-Chair of Real Property Committee), Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York, National Cannabis Bar Association, Minority Cannabis Business Association, Cannabis Cultural Association (co-founder and first Executive Director), Women Grow and the Asian Cannabis Roundtable (founder).
KIM PETRY – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Kim is a CPA, MBA and seasoned Senior Executive with extensive proven success in increasing profit margins, solid financial management, business leadership and strategic partnering with the board of directors, legal, compliance, regulators and the business. Currently, Ms. Petry is the owner of ebalance, a strategic accounting firm and is a partner in several organizations including New Agrariae and Canna-Bureau. Most recently, Ms. Petry was the EVP and CFO of Paxos, a high growth Fin Tech Company, where she led a global finance organization and was in charge of the Human Resources Division. Prior to her current role, she was CFO at Broadridge where she successfully led several accretive deals and dramatically increased profit margins. Positions prior to Broadridge include CFO, Global Commercial/Corporate Card Payment with American Express where she led a team of over 150 finance professionals globally, supporting a business with over $4 billion in revenue and stopped pricing erosion and increased revenue. Prior to American Express, she was Vice President of Corporate Finance, Planning and Analysis and Business Finance and Analysis with TIAA-CREF where she led over 140 professionals domestically and was responsible for reporting, budgeting, forecasting, strategy, long-term planning, new product development, accounting, Board interaction, mergers and acquisitions. Earlier in her career, Ms. Petry served as Managing Director of Finance at US Trust Corporation/Schwab Corporation and Audit Senior Manager in Financial Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She earned her MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University and graduated first in her class with a BA in Accounting from Adelphi University. She is also Six Sigma Green Belt Certified. Ms. Petry has won several awards for her expertise in finance and leadership including the YWCA Woman Achiever of the Year, Association of Professional Women – Woman of the Year, AICPA Accounting Award and the NYSSCPA Achievement Award.
OSCAR PEREIRA – VP OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
As consultant and advisor in legal and financial matters, he has served in this capacities for multi-national companies around the world. In Oscar’s over fifteen years of practice, his emphasis has been in matters related to Securities Law, Regulation, Commercial and Corporate Law, with five years experience as a Financial Analyst, Financial Principal, Compliance Officer. Through his global networks, he is working to broaden opportunities for cannabis impact in Central and South America.
KEVIN MAHMALJI – DIRECTOR GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Prior to his role in marijuana consulting, Kevin served as the director of government relations for one of Colorado’s most established marijuana businesses where he assisted regulators from the Marijuana Enforcement Division on the development of the regulatory framework for the implementation of Amendment 64. From taxation to the production of marijuana concentrates and infused products, Kevin worked with lawmakers at all levels of government to accommodate the needs of marijuana consumers while being mindful of public safety concerns. With deep experience in lobbying and advocacy, Kevin specializes in campaign development and engaging lawmakers, regulators, business leaders, and the community.
BRANDON SHEPHERD – VP OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Brandon Shepherd is a Food scientist, who received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Metro State College of Denver. His journey into the CPG Food industry began at Nestle USA HHFG in Centennial, CO, which became a platform for manufacturing and consumer packaged goods product innovation expertise. After successfully launching Hot Pocket’s Side Shots, he left Nestle and took a position at Dean Foods as Cultured Dairy Food Technologist. Brandon founded Mile High Food Science to bring his array of expertise to a wider client base, and now works with a range of clients from small MIP kitchens, to world wide Packaging Manufacturers.
As an entrepreneur and author, Brandon’s successes include developing the Mota Pot and Cannibles food products. He owns numerous trademarks and patents. Brandon founded Mile High Food Science in 2012 and has successfully developed over a dozen top selling edible products such as The Chill Pill, Incredible brownie, a healthy line of cookies and granola bars, Savory Harvest, and Cholaca, just to name a few. Brandon’s expertise lies in beverage formulation, baked goods, and solvent free marijuana infused products.
